Abstract

Hypertension is thought to accelerate biological aging. However, evidence of a causal effect is lacking. This study aimed to provide evidence of a relationship between hypertension and biological aging by analyzing data from the 2005-2010 National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) and by Mendelian randomization (MR).

The following analysis is generated by AI and may contain errors. It is separate from the authors’ abstract and is not peer review.

Research summary

Hypertension accelerates biological aging. The paper investigates a potential causal relationship between hypertension and biological aging, which is directly relevant to understanding the mechanisms of aging and longevity.
