Dynamic Neurocognitive Adaptation in aging: developing and validation of a new scale.
Abstract
Up to 40% of current AD cases may have been preventable through protective factors, such as physical and cognitive activities, preventing neurodegeneration. Reserve, resilience, and resistance are key concepts in cognitive neuroscience of aging, and they share common adaptive mechanisms. In this paper we propose a development and validation of a new scale, called dynamic Neurocognitive Adaptation (dNA).

Research summary
The paper addresses the development and validation of a new scale for assessing dynamic neurocognitive adaptation in aging, which is relevant to understanding cognitive resilience and adaptation mechanisms in older adults. However, while it contributes to the field of cognitive neuroscience, it does not directly tackle the root causes of aging or propose significant interventions for lifespan extension. Thus, its impact is solid but limited.
